I promise to work on these pictures. They are a treasure. Your great grandfather was a colonel and originally was in the New York Guard. He not only served in Europe, where you have the Argonne shell casing, but also in the Mexican campaign on the border. He tested the original goodyear tires for trucks that were to be used in mobilizing the wounded throughout France and Belgium. There are so many pictures of the truck cavalcades that I will send or scan. He also stayed for a while as the army of occupation and that is where I believe that mother and grandmother traveled by ocean liner to visit. They were there some time as my mother was fluent in French at an early age. He even was stationed in Camp Blanding Florida where they still were training with horses for cavalry before going to Europe. I never met him, as he died early around age 50, but these pictures are a part of history. mom
